"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" Psalm 23:1.

Agnes Opdyke (LaBrake), age 92, mother, wife, daughter, and sister, peacefully passed away May 23rd, 2025, after age-related illnesses.

Born to George and Hilda LaBrake on February 23rd, 1933, in Stockholm, New York, Agnes was the oldest of 14 siblings. Life didn’t keep her in New York.

By 1954, Agnes went on a blind date in July with Chuck Opdyke. By September, they were married. After Chuck’s discharge, Agnes spent the next 68 years making Albuquerque her home.

From RV’ing, to going back to New York for family reunions, to making her famous apple pie at home, she was a homemaker at heart.

Her last years were spent with her loving daughter Ruth in Pennsylvania who went above and beyond providing the utmost care till her last day on earth.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda and George, husband Chuck of 59 years, who passed in 2014, her two youngest sons, Keith and Ken, and four brothers.

Agnes is survived by her daughter Ruth, son Frank (wife Sharon), nephew Stephen (wife Linda), her 7 grandchildren, Jesse, Jared, Jeff, Leslie, Chris, Scarlett and Samantha, and countless great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Interment will be in a private ceremony with family at Sandia Memory Gardens at a later date.
